UNIDO institutional mandate

In April 2017 I spoke at Houna Design's talks as UNIDO's cluster development expert. The Houna association set up the talks to bring creators and the public into the same conversation about design.

I was two years into the Creative Mediterranean mandate in Marrakech at the time. Most of that work happened with artisans, companies and support institutions. Houna was a different audience: designers and a general public. Cluster development depends on both, and this talk took the work outside programme meetings.

What I take forward

I treat visibility as part of development work. Speaking to designers and the public belonged to the Marrakech mandate, not beside it.
