Berexia

An employment role building Berexia’s emerging-technology capabilities through client projects and team education.

From January to July 2023, Berexia employed me to develop its Crypto, NFT, SBT and Metaverse capabilities for clients. My role combined two areas: strategy and project deployment, and training and capability building. UNITAR, Baccarat, Fabrice Santoro and the French Tennis Federation each brought a different context to that work.

Building a capability inside the company

In January 2023, Berexia employed me to develop and carry its capabilities in crypto, NFTs, soulbound tokens and the metaverse for clients. My work connected technical possibilities with an organisation’s needs.

The role continued through July 2023. It involved working with Berexia’s teams and clients, from strategy to project proposals and training.

Strategy, deployment and training

The first area was strategy and project deployment: understanding the need, defining use cases, conducting research and developing recommendations, project architecture and implementation steps.

The second was training and capability building. I trained teams, including at UNITAR in Geneva, so they could understand the technologies, assess proposals and participate in decisions.

Different needs in different organisations

The 2023 UNITAR phase included an e-learning platform proposal, a functional blockchain certification pilot and training in Geneva. It followed the NFT programme concept I had developed with the institute in 2022, before my employment at Berexia.

For Baccarat, I developed a Web3 direction, 77 pages of metaverse-market research and a roadmap the house adopted.

I also worked with Fabrice Santoro, then the French Tennis Federation, where I challenged an NFT model proposed to the federation. The January 2023 tokenized real-estate platform presentation for Dubai Holding also belonged to this Berexia period.

The client engagements have their own records, with their particular needs, contributions and outcomes.

Building the internal capability too

With Juliana Cossa and Berexia’s teams, part of the work concerned the company’s own presentations and positioning. I reworked client material, contributed to the thinking around Berexia Digital and prepared Web3 sales arguments for the commercial team.

Understanding alongside deployment

This period brought me closer to the work of carrying technology inside a company: defining a use, preparing a project and helping teams understand it. Those questions continue in my work with AI today.

What I take forward

Building a technology capability means developing both the projects and the people who need to understand them.
