Quantum Branding
The practice that gave a name and a structure to the way I had already been working for twenty years.
Nizzar Ben Chekroune founded Quantum Branding, his independent practice at the intersection of brand, AI and business: the work began in late 2023 and the practice was established in 2024. It formalizes a way of working visible across about twenty years of earlier projects, organizes it as Observe, Collapse, Build, Hold, and is the practice through which he applies his personal method, Perceptual Composition.

Twenty years before the name
For about twenty years I was handed visible problems: visibility, sales, a rebrand, content, a launch, market entry, Web3, AI, digital transformation. In Marrakech it was a cluster of creative companies inside a UNIDO programme. At Arroz Con Pollo it was a cultural magazine's digital behaviour. In Web3 it was legacy, athlete IP and heritage luxury entering digital ownership. The deliverable changed every time.
The direction of travel did not. I kept moving upstream, from the problem I was given to the real one, then to identity, value, audience and decision, and only then back down to alignment, expression, activation and the test of reality.
What the name does not cover
None of that earlier work was Quantum Branding. It was done as co-founder of a studio, under institutional mandates, or as an independent adviser, and each record on this site carries its own attribution. The practice did not exist yet. A recurring way of working did.
Quantum Branding is the formalization of that way of working. Twenty years of work revealed the method. The practice gave it a name and a structure. AI then made parts of it systematizable, and able to scale beyond one person's hours.
Late 2023, then 2024
The work that became the practice began in late 2023. Quantum Branding was established in 2024 as an independent, founder-led practice at thequantumbranding.com, working where brand, AI and business meet.
The engagements attributed to it are the ones that followed: a fractional CMO role for the jewellery house Verne Jewels, a strategic marketing and emerging-technology engagement with Africa Business School / UM6P, and the positioning and digital foundations of Selvaggi Built, a contractor that renovates hospitals while they stay open. QTMBG sits alongside as a specialist line for consumer goods, sourcing and production.
Observe, Collapse, Build, Hold
The practice works in four movements. Observe: look at what actually happens, listen to customers, examine the work, and keep evidence apart from assumption. Collapse: choose the one direction that deserves to exist, with the trade-off stated and success agreed in advance. Build: turn the decision into something people can use, whether a brand, a website, a commercial system or a working tool. Hold: put it in use, watch what holds, adjust what moves, and leave the team a basis for its next decision.
The name comes from the second movement. Before it commits, a company is several plausible companies at once, each presentable on its own and confusing together on one homepage, in one sales conversation, in one roadmap. A direction becomes a decision when it excludes another credible one. Making got cheap. Deciding didn't.
Two methods, kept apart
Observe, Collapse, Build, Hold is the practice's method: the sequence a client and I move through together, with a shared vocabulary and decisions everyone can see.
Perceptual Composition is a different thing. It is my personal method, how I perceive, understand, choose and compose, published at nizzar.com/perceptual-composition. Quantum Branding is the practice through which I apply it to organizations. The two are not merged, and neither is a version of the other. Perceptual Composition describes how I think. Observe, Collapse, Build, Hold describes how an organization works with me.
Six territories
The work takes shape in six territories. Brand and positioning: the position, narrative and identity that express where a business is going. Marketing and sales: the offer, and the path from interest to a commercial decision. Digital and experience: a website, a customer path or a product built around what people need to do. AI and intelligent systems: a workflow improved by an automation, an internal tool or a prototype. AI training and adoption: leaders and teams making practical choices about AI in their own work. Business and opportunity: a market, a model or a possibility investigated before resources are committed.
Most engagements cross several of them. The question a client brings sets the scope. The territory is where the answer ends up living.
Where software enters
AI changed what one practitioner can carry. Parts of the method can now be encoded, so the first reading of a company, the organization of what already exists and the surfacing of patterns happen faster than I could manage alone. BrandOS, at quantumbranding.ai, is the product built from the practice to do that part. It is not another name for the practice, and the choice of what matters stays with a person.
The portfolio on this site is the evidence. Quantum Branding is the formalized method. BrandOS is the attempt to make parts of it executable by software.
What I take forward
The method came before the name. I did not invent Quantum Branding and then look for proof. I looked back across twenty years of very different mandates, found the same movement in each, and built a practice that makes it explicit, shareable with a team and partly executable by software.
