About fatherhood.
What is it to be a father? There are no universal answers to that, in my opinion. I can tell you about my father and how I was inspired by him for my own journey with my two big boys.
My dad used to whistle melodies, the exact same melody when he was back from work.
My dad used to recite poems and philosophical quotes all day long that is how he made us look at any events or the world that surrounds us.
My dad used to share his point of view about paintings, music and cinema.
My dad used to like sports, every sport.
My dad used to like Edith Piaf, Gainsbourg, Josephine Baker, Gina Lollobrigida, Pele, Mohamed Ali, Carl Lewis …
My dad used to read a lot and share what he learned with us.
My dad used to spend time with us.
My dad used to laugh about anything making jokes all day long.
My dad used to spread a tear at beautiful simple moments.
My dad used to like refined food.
My dad used to speak about ideas rather than people or events.
My dad used to look at me as I am and never expected anything from me but to feel good in my own skin.
My dad used to tell me that everything was possible.
My dad used to tell me that I should look at the man in the mirror as the only judge.
My dad used to be my companion, not my educator.
My dad let me figure out who I am, whilst he deeply knew.
My dad gave me wings.
My dad gave me the keys to be a dad.
This is a love letter to my dad.
Peace upon your soul on father’s day.
